Our Story
We are a long-established family-run business that is part of all Cornwall communities.
Tarmac in Cornwall started in the Crocker family with James Crocker. This hardworking father shared his trade with his son, our founder Paul Crocker. Getting involved in the family business in 1986 when he was only 15, Paul learned from the best from a young age. And now in 2021 with over 35 years of experience within tarmacking, you could say he’s a bit of an expert.

But our family values still remain the same. We value the relationship between ourselves and our customers because we feel it makes a big difference to the final result. In fact, communication is a big part of what we do. We love a chat, so don’t be afraid to call us if you have any questions, big or small. In fact, we still feel giddy when we receive a phone call asking for James because we know that the customer is returning after at least 35 years.
Our family values have inspired our work within the local communities of Cornwall. We have worked closely with local parishes, community centres and small businesses through all our years of service. We love to think that we bring them closer by laying the footpaths, roads and public spaces where the community comes together. Through this work we have become a known and trusted tarmac service throughout Cornwall.
